Recommendations Needed

I need recomendations on "This American Life" episodes to listen to in my quickly-approaching travels.

If you've got a favorite "This American Life," leave it in the comments, even if it's only a vague recollection of an act or two that was awesome. (Better yet, search their archives and find the episode and leave a link.)

If not, spelunk through their episode archive and point out any that look particularly good or weird.

Any topic that I should know about? Leave a link to the search page as a not-so-subtle hint.

"Seemed Like A Good Idea At The Time" is a personal favorite I remember hearing in Tucson when it aired just after New Years 2006. The Prologue is hilarious. And Act One, which is about a touring cast of Riverdance, speaks to me for obvious reasons.

Though the touring lifestyle isn't really what the story's about, it provides a very accurate insight into the nature of performing the same the night after night. Rediscoving this particular installment of TAL and listening to it while on tour was somehow very soothing for me...I think you'll like it as well. Other acts also have many funny/tragic/moving parts, as is par for the course. For me, it's a perennial favorite. Check it out!

Babysitting. There's an episode about babysitting that has an absolutely incredible story about the girl and brother who babysit for a family that doesn't exist. I listened to this episode while cleaning my room, but it was so interesting I had to stop, sit down, and just listen. The story is delicately and masterfully played out. It's incredible. Very unexpected.
